A fusion of soccer and volleyball elements, Jokgu, or foot volleyball, is a very commonly played sport in South Korea, particularly in the military where the game first originated. This most Korean of pastimes gets the sports movie treatment in the comedy The King of Jogku. Directed by Woo Moon Gi, the film chronicles the adventures of laidback college student Man Seop (Ahn Jae Hong) who is decidedly average in just about every aspect but excels in Jokgu. Returning to school after serving in the army, he is distressed to find that the school's Jogku court has been removed and no one else seems to care because they're all worrying about job searching. When Man Seop falls for campus beauty Anna (Hwang Seung Eon), he impresses her with what he does best, challenging former pro soccer player Kang Min (Jung Woo Sik) in Jokgu. Will he be able to win the girl and the upcoming Jokgu competition?
