Han Suk Kyu and Ko Su face off as rival tailors of the old and new guard, while Yoo Yeon Seok and Park Shin Hye reign as King and Queen. The Royal Tailor won for Best Art Direction and Costume Design at the 52nd Daejong Film Awards.

Master royal tailor Dol Seok (Han Suk Kyu) has spent years carefully honing his skills and properly working his way to his current position. Even the new King (Yoo Yeon Seok) has acknowledged his craftsmanship. Just as everything seems to be going Dol Seok's way, an unconventional upstart enters the palace and ruffles the status quo. A cocky and talented outsider who doesn't abide by the rules, Kong Jin (Ko Su) quickly makes a splash with his stylish, unconventional designs and finds a muse in the beautiful but neglected Queen (Park Shin Hye). Kong Jin only wants to tailor, but in the palace, even clothing becomes a weapon for power play.
