All her life, Soo Nam (Lee Jung Hyun) has worked hard and tried her best, only to be constantly plagued with bad luck. She is happy as can be to get married, but then her husband gets maimed in an accident. She finally saves up enough money to buy a house, and then misfortune strikes again. Left on her own to care for a debilitated husband and to shoulder mounting medical bills, Soo Nam desperately puts hope into a neighborhood redevelopment plan that will spike the sale price of her house. However, other people in the city are determined to stop the redevelopment. Pushed up against a wall by cruel fate, Soo Nam becomes the cruelest of them all when she takes matters into her own hands.
