The royal procession is attacked by assassins, and the queen ends up gravely injured in the ensuing battle. As the queen is originally a princess of the Yuan (Chinese) empire, her death would lead to political catastrophe and downfall for the young king. Only a divine healer could save the queen, so Choi Young is sent through a mystical portal believed to lead to heaven. Instead, it drops him in present-day Seoul, where he comes across flighty plastic surgeon Eun Soo (Kim Hee Sun) and kidnaps her back to the Goryeo era.
